Two kinds of comparison
- Internal product comparison
- Two or more Amplified Glow products compared against each other using first-party published data. Every value is checkable against the brand’s own pages.
- Category benchmark comparison
- An Amplified Glow product compared against an anonymous summary of how a cohort of comparable consumer cosmetics discloses the same attributes.
Every comparison page tells you which kind it is.
We don’t single out rival brands
You won’t find another brand named anywhere in our comparisons. We also avoid stand-in labels that everyone can decode — like "Brand A" or "the leading brand" — because a label everyone recognises is just a name in disguise.
Instead, benchmarks describe a category: a "Typical Copper-Peptide Serum" or a "Standard Sulfate-Free Shampoo". Each one summarises a group of comparable products, so it tells you where an Amplified Glow product sits in its market without putting any single competitor on the spot.
What goes into a category benchmark
A benchmark represents the typical range for a kind of product. Before we publish one, it has to meet a clear bar:
- At least five genuinely comparable consumer products, each with a recorded source and check date.
- Every product in the same category and intended use as the Amplified Glow product — no research-only or injectable peptide products, which aren’t comparable to a topical cosmetic.
- Ranges (lowest, typical, highest) calculated only from products that actually publish the detail, with missing values counted honestly rather than guessed.
- A plain summary on the page of what the group of products is.
When a category benchmark isn’t ready, we simply leave it off the page — you’ll never see an estimated or placeholder figure standing in for real data.
What our comparisons won’t claim
- That a category of products performs worse. A benchmark shows what similar products disclose — it isn’t a performance test.
- Vague superiority like "superior formula", "more effective", or "works faster".
- A single winner when the right choice genuinely depends on your needs. Some of our comparisons deliberately point to different products for different people.
A factual, dated distinction is fair game: "This serum is 60 mL; comparable serums we checked ranged from X to Y mL." That tells you what was measured and when, without overreaching.
Keeping comparisons current
We re-check prices and availability about every 30 days, formulation details about every 90, and category benchmarks a few times a year. Each comparison shows when it was last checked.
